Title: Supplier Quality Program Manager

Duration: 2 Months

Location: Lisle, IL

Description:

This is to cover a medical leave until the end of August

Top 5 skill sets the manager is looking for:

Program / project management
Communication skills written and oral; able to engage effectively at all levels of the organization, internally and externally
Ability to work independently with little direct Supervision, once trained in the Client processes.
Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) proficiency
Understanding of Supplier Quality tools APQP, PPAP, Global 8D (or other issue resolution tools), IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 quality systems, statistical analysis.

Regarding Travel as mentioned in the below JD:

The SQ PMs do not travel often, but when they do, it is usually to a Client manufacturing plant to support a new program launch build event. Those locations would be Springfield, Ohio, Huntsville, Alabama, Tulsa, OK, San Antonio, TX, and Monterrey, MX (Escobedo plant).
For this particular position, it is possible the contractor may travel to Huntsville to support powertrain builds, but I would not anticipate travel to other facilities or outside the US. The language in the document is a just in case it is needed type of thing.
(Travel would be covered by Client)

will plan, manage, and execute Supplier Quality department processes related to the company's new program launch, eMobility and Functional Safety related products and services, and other programs as needed. Will coordinate departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products.

Position Purpose and Requirements:

Participates and provides Supplier Quality oversight on new technologies within the program launches.
Monitors the project from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending as it relates to Supplier Quality activities. Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring Supplier Quality deliverables are met during the launch cycle, and completion of the project.
Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise, and identifies supply base risk for leadership. Normally works independently. Receives minimal guidance, little instruction on day-to-day work, and general instructions on new assignments.
Expected travel is 25-50%. May be required to travel out of the country as well.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite required.
Experience with program or project management practices is required
Experience with APQP and PPAP is required
Experience with G8D or similar issue resolution process is required.
Desired Skills:

PM certification ideal, but not required
Experience in automotive or manufacturing environment preferred. Experience with powertrain components preferred, but not required.
Background with engineering or supplier quality preferred.
Experience with Functional Safety standards and practices is ideal.
Experience with emerging technologies such as electrification and autonomous vehicles is preferred.
Effective working knowledge of quality tools and concepts such as; IATF-16949, VDA 6.3, AIAG APQP, PPAP, MSA (GD&T) and SPC (statistics) manuals and manufacturing process (lean manufacturing), with ability to teach and facilitate these tools and concepts to suppliers is ideal.
