Job Description - Supply Chain Analyst




The Contingent Plan is actively recruiting a part-time supply chain analyst for a cosmetics and beauty client. This is a temporary assignment that is expected to last 12 months with potential for extension. This is a hybrid role with the expectation of onsite work in NY 2 days per week. The role is 32 hours/week with the schedule of 7:30 am - 2:30 pm EST. 







Responsibilities:



  • Each day will begin working with the Distribution Management team at the DC in Ohio.  Responsible for building loads in the system for each day.  In the afternoon time will be spent trouble shooting and working on continuous improvement projects.

  • Review and confirm system shipment recommendations and allocate finished goods to appropriate Distribution Centers and other Avon locations.  Develop daily transportation schedule for shipment of FG to all customers.

  • Interact with Distribution Centers, planning, LG or other customers on changes in demand, special request, large orders, and local projects including component needs for gift set assembly.

  • Develop system expertise - analyze reoccurring issues, partner with other teams to share best practices, and investigate root causes ensuring issues are addressed and completed before end of day (issue recap email to all concerned parties, record of action items).

  • Perform audits on EDI transactions from 3PL forwarders and suppliers, partnering with cross functional teams to rectify any discrepancies.

  • Assist with financial transactions and reconciliations between branches, 3rd party logistics providers, IT, finance and business partners

  • Cross check systems to ensure on hand inventory and data across all systems to identify any discrepancies and work with IT to find root cause.

  • Collaborate with project teams to support go-live activities and sustain post go-live environment on all systems, providing support and assistance.

  • Responsive & timely communication/elevation to important cross-functional business partners and management when service and cost are at risk (i.e. understanding of transit lead times, Distribution Center operations including control cut-offs & billing cycles)






Requirements



  • BA/BS degree with basic understanding of the fundamentals of Supply Chain Management and Information Systems

  • Two or more years' post-graduate experience within a Supply Chain function

  • Experience with an ERP system (E1 and JDA a plus) and knowledge of MRP II concepts

  • Ability to trouble shoot with effective and frequent independent decisions on volatile situations or reach out to IT/Service/Supply Chain partners to support the quick resolution of issues

  • Knowledge of functional operations (production, material handling, purchasing, logistics and finance)

  • Experience analyzing and communicating information to supply chain teams with projected impact to the business.

  • EDI Experience (specifically 846 and 856) and master of excel (can perform complex functions), access and SQL.

  • Desire to look for areas for process improvements and eliminate non-value-added activities.
