What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
Oversee all aspects of Procurement and Inventory
Lead the Inventory Control team and Buyers
Forecast demand and ensure timely delivery of ingredients and components to support production
Partner closely with Operations to identify and communicate potential supply risks
Develop and maintain a strong, resilient supplier network
Support Buyers in negotiating pricing and terms to meet material KPIs
Communicate vendor quality issues and drive timely resolution
Maintain and manage the approved supplier list and lead times
Establish and maintain reorder points and quantities to achieve Inventory Turns KPIs
Ensure ingredients and packaging are available for upcoming production runs
Maintain the Finished Product Schedule and communicate production goals
Build strong relationships with customers regarding orders, changes, and fulfillment
Support Business Development with customer communications related to supply delays
Contribute to and maintain QMS documentation related to Production and Shipping/Receiving
Maintain accurate Bills of Materials
Communicate and reinforce company mission, policies, and regulatory requirements
Develop Contract Manufacturing Agreements with external partners
Negotiate and maintain supplier contracts in accordance with requirements
Monitor supplier performance including quality and delivery
Coordinate vendor returns and resolve invoice discrepancies
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, Logistics, or related field and 3 years of experience in a production management role within manufacturing/packaging OR
High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 6 years of relevant production management experience in food manufacturing/packaging
Preferred:
3+ years of purchasing experience
Experience with Sage or similar accounting platforms
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems
