Job Description - Supply Specialist III

JP Logistics & Consulting LLC (JPLC) is looking for a full time Supply Specialist II to support the EAGLE contract at Fort Eisenhower GA in support of Maintenance, Supply and Transportation.

Hours of Operation: 6:30 AM (Mon-Thur) 4:00 PM 7:30 AM -11:30 AM (Fri)



Job Summary:


Provides technical advice and assistance to supply personnel including direction and performance of duties for lower level positions in Retail Supply Services as well as performs the duties to include but not limited to: processing and segregating receipts, operating the Central Receiving Point (CRP), utilizing hand held terminals and automated system as applicable, implementing causative research and adjusting documents, providing customer assistance, evaluating priorities, validating incoming and outgoing documentation, performing data cleansing, assisting with required location surveys and inventories, processing warehouse denials and turn-ins, and maintaining hand receipt files of temporary loans. Performs technical supply management work (e.g. inventory and storage management to include care of stocks in storage, cataloging, and property utilization) related to local, depot, and other supply activities. Complies with year-end and close out actions and maintains stock readiness.  


 



Essential Functions: 




    • Analyzes, investigates, and initiates reporting actions on supply discrepancies 



    • Manages signature card files and verifies all authorizations are currentContacts customers for updated cards upon expiration 



    • Reviews and analyzes data output from automated supply systems and makes corrections when necessary  



    • Provides feeder reports 



    • Processes DODAAC transactions and requests changes for RIC 



    • Reviews supply requisitions for accuracy, may issue and receive supplies 



    • Updates the Supply Standing Operating Procedure with all changes 



    • Receives, issues, stores, safeguards, inventories, ships and disposes of sensitive items 



    • Provides research, assistance and/or guidance to customers on supply matters 



    • Manages inventory records, creates IAR's and researches / resolves inventory discrepancies, inputs and validates inventory counts which can be daily / weekly based on system generation 



    • Manages Release Strategy in LIS 



    • Interfaces with outside organization such as Item Managers, LOGSA or system Help Desks  



    • Requests disposition instructions for off-post shipping 



    • Coordinates DLA-DS Transportation  



    • Performs other duties as assigned 


    Working Conditions and Physical Demands:




      • Frequent exposure to dirt, dust, and other potential allergens. 

      • Frequent, short duration (>30 min) exposure to the elements i.e. weather variations

      • Occasional, extended duration (<30 min) exposure to the elements i.e. weather variations

      • Work Location:  Temperature Controlled Warehouse 



        • frequent bending, standing, walking, sitting 



        • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 



        • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate computer and peripherals 



        • Ability to communicate effectively in a clear and concise manner with senior level staff and customers 



        • Use of appropriate PPE
          i.e. hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, steel toe shoes.
           



        • Use of appropriate hand tools i.e. hammer, screwdriver, pry bar 





       


       


      Qualifications:



      • Four years of experience in the military supply field with two years of experience working at the retail supply level in a supply support activity 



      • Experienced with the Global Combat Support System-Army or equivalent Logistics Information System in preparing supply documents, adjustments and reports 



      • Practical knowledge of a wide range of established property and supply management policies and processes, and to apply a variety of common methods and techniques to analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of these various property and supply programs, identify needed remedies or improvements, and recommend solutions 



      • Skilled in effective oral and written communication to,
        comprehend and explain regulations, update policy and instructions, conduct investigations, provide program information to management and customers, and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the organization's supply operation. Guidelines consist of supply, procurement and automation manuals and regulations as well as applicable Department of Defense, Department of the Army, Major Command and local instructions and policies. Guidelines are numerous and not always directly applicable. Employee must use considerable judgment, based on extensive past training experience in researching and applying regulations in order to
        determine the applicability and relationship between guidelines and program goals
         



      • The employee chooses, interprets and adapts available guidelines (that often contain conflicting or ambiguous instructions) to specific assignments, and recommends changes to those policies 



      • Candidate must be able to perform all the tasks not exclusive of those described in the job description section 



      • Must be U.S. citizen and possess a high school diploma or equivalent 



      • Must be proficient in the use of computers and MS Office Software 



      • Must be able to obtain a CAC 



      • Must possess a valid state driver’s license; may be required to be licensed to operate Government provided vehicles and material handling equipment
