To assist in maintaining the Ambulance Districts state of readiness.
DESCRIPTION
A full-time, non-exempt, hourly employee who reports directly to the Service Center Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Processes orders submitted by Headquarters, Training and field units. Retrieves patient care equipment from medical facilities and distributes the equipment back to the units.
Receive district ordered items and inventory in accordance with procedures as defined by Policy 801-3 Purchasing.
Maintains an acceptable inventory of medical supplies used by the District utilizing Operative IQ or the current inventory management system.
Trans-filling oxygen to the District’s fleet. This includes various agencies who the District partners with to provide first response as well as maintaining the system and records in accordance with District, State, and Federal policies, rules, laws, and regulations.
Trouble shooting and documenting damaged or broken equipment for repair. Makes minor repairs to equipment as allowed by the manufacturer. Maintains records in accordance to manufacturers, state and federal requirements. This includes but is not limited to acting as the District representative during preventative maintenance programs.
Other duties as assigned by the Service Center Manager may include but are not limited to: stocking vehicles, transferring vehicles for service, other needs of District operations, or miscellaneous errands.
MARGINAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Retrieving linens, medical waste and pharmaceutical waste from the stations.
Performing basic vehicle inspections on the vehicles used to perform duties (oil, clean exterior and interior, etc.)
Documenting all equipment being sent out for repair and for equipment sent back after repairs have been made.
Maintain general working knowledge of Supply Tech II and Supply Tech Leader duties and fill in as needed.

Education and Other:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license
Twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
Skills
Mathematical Skills – The ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
Language and Interpersonal Skills – Ability to read limited number of two- and three- syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Listens to others without interrupting, and maintains confidentiality, Ability to communicate effectively with management and prioritize assignments in a changing environment.
Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills – Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, drive ambulances and other emergency vehicles.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
