Job Description - Support Representative

Description

As the first impression for the Agency, the Support Representative will create a welcoming environment as they greet and assist walk-in guests. They will also provide administrative support for our busy Medway office. 

The hours for this in-office, full-time position are: M-TH: 8am-4:30pm, F: 8am-4pm.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet walk-in clients and visitors in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Answer client inquiries or direct the inquiry to the person best able to assist the client.
  • Process payments received by walk-in customers and document accordingly. 
  • Process certificates of insurance for commercial lines clients.
  • Perform accurate data entry on a daily basis regarding client policy cancellations and reinstatements.
  • Submit change requests to carriers as requested by the customers.
  • Sort and distribute Agency mail on a daily basis and process outgoing mail.
  • Provide requested information to Management on local merchants, company addresses or contact information as requested.
  • Assist sales, finance, and marketing departments with projects.
  • Provide back-up reception when needed and direct caller to the appropriate person courteously and professionally. 

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of administrative/office support or customer service experience.
  • Basic Microsoft Office computer skills (Word, Outlook).
  • Highly professional and pleasant phone manner for a busy office with multiple locations, and a multi-line telephone system.
  • Data entry skills, basic cashier skills, mail sorting & record keeping practices.
  • Effective communication skills, friendly and outgoing personality, organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to respond to requests effectively and efficiently.
  • Strong commitment to customer service excellence.
  • Ability to speak Portuguese and/or Spanish considered a plus.
  • Previous P&C insurance experience helpful but not required.
