Job Description - Support Staff - Receptionist

At Prairie Ridge, our front desk team plays a vital role in the experience of every client we serve. As a Support Staff / Receptionist, you are often the first point of contact, helping create a welcoming, respectful, and supportive environment for individuals seeking mental health and substance use services. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a team that is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others while working in a collaborative, fast-paced healthcare setting.




TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Treat all individuals with dignity and respect while maintaining agency standards of confidentiality, professionalism and objectivity. 

  2. Maintain all HIPAA and 42 CFR confidentiality requirements and regulations as outlined in CARF policies and procedures.

  3. Answer the telephone and route calls to appropriate staff.

  4. Schedule and maintain patient appointments through use of agency software program.

  5. Greet the public and agency consumers.

  6. Perform secretarial duties for clinical and administrative staff, as assigned.

  7. Open and dispense mail; mail outgoing correspondence daily.

  8. Confirm patient demographics.

  9. Collect patient insurance cards and co-payments when appropriate.

  10. Maintain supply of office forms as needed.

  11. All other duties as assigned by the Support Staff Supervisor.



QUALIFICATIONS



  1. Understanding of the mission of Prairie Ridge and the clients we work with.

  2. Proficiency in managing manual and computerized data collection systems.

  3. Proficiency in typing, filing and general office skills, as well as oral and written communication skills.

  4. Ability to meet the public and agency clientele in a warm, helpful manner.

  5. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee is often required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and climb or balance.

  6. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or more up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
