Position Summary:

AAA United States, Inc. is seeking skilled Supportability Engineer to provide technical leadership for maintenance analysis, life cycle costing, and logistics support across major shipbuilding programs.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate project schedules and technical efforts related to maintenance planning, obsolescence management, and logistics analysis.
  • Responsibilities include performing detailed maintenance evaluations for shipboard systems covering organizational, intermediate, and depot-level maintenance.
  • Support Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and Total Ownership Cost (TOC) estimating efforts, and will conduct detailed supportability analyses, cost trade-off studies, configuration management, and supply support evaluations from concept development through system disposal.
  • Key tasks include developing preliminary preventive maintenance documentation (such as Maintenance Requirement Cards [MRCs] and Maintenance Index Pages [MIPs]), supporting the development of shipyard preservation and preventive maintenance procedures, and interfacing with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to obtain Vendor Furnished Information (VFI).
  • Responsible for ensuring that all change order activity affecting maintenance documentation is properly processed, documented, and communicated to the broader ILS team.
  • Successful candidates must demonstrate a willingness to cross-train within other areas of ILS as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent experience in Maintenance and Supportability Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Supportability, Logistics, or Systems Engineering experience supporting Government contracts.
  • Ability to read and interpret OEM Vendor Furnished Information, including technical drawings and parts lists.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required.
  • Experience interfacing with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, engineers, and supply chain personnel.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office | Haystack | Navy PMS Editor | ACEIT or PRICE Cost Estimating Software | RMA Modeling Tools
  • Life Cycle Cost (LCC) estimating experience preferred.
  • Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RMA) modeling experience preferred.
  • RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) Level II certification preferred.
  • Prior experience with U.S. Navy, Military Sealift Command (MSC), or U.S. Coast Guard programs is beneficial but not required.
