Tesla Manufacturing Engineering has the important role of designing “The Machine that builds the Machine”. We work with the cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Production, Sustaining, and Supply Chain) throughout the entire lifecycle of a product (from initial design through prototype development and into full production) to develop high quality and efficient manufacturing equipment and processes that will produce the power electronics that drive our cars and energy products. What You’ll Do

Program and operate SMT equipment (Printers, Placers, Oven, AOI and AXI)
Assist in developing and refining manufacturing process with Manufacturing Engineers
Validate production equipment
Participate in manufacturing trials by preparing coupon-level samples
Collect data using metrology
Supervise automated electrical and mechanical test equipment
Roll out process changes to production equipment
Respond to advanced maintenance issues
Assist with root cause analysis
Assist Manufacturing Engineers with ensuring equipment and processes meet production capacity targets and outputs
What You’ll Bring

At least 1 year of Surface Mount Technology experience
Associate Degree in a Technical topic, 3+ years pertinent experience in Manufacturing, or equivalent
Knowledgeable about production quality metrics
Exemplary written communication and technical report writing skills
Experience with manual machining and other fabrication processes
Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
Mastery of Word and Excel
Able to problem solve and work with minimal supervision toward a stated goal
Experience with electronic manufacturing
Training/certification on IPC, ESD, MSL and/or 5S

Expected Compensation
$24.40 - $65.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
