Surgery Scheduler | Iredell NeuroSpine | Statesville | FT

This scheduler is responsible for obtaining accurate information to schedule procedures and obtain pre authorizations for treatment for the Iredell Health Physician Practices. The candidate's top priority is scheduling, coordinating and getting precertification for neurosurgical surgeries. Precertification and scheduling surgeries are the top requirements.      

Schedule: Monday - Friday / 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of on-the-job experience in a like or similar position preferred.
• responsibilities include coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures at 3 hospitals and eventually the ambulatory surgery center.
• Must excel in documentation for insurance and billing purposes. 
• Coordinating with vendors for implants, internal instrumentation and spinal cord stimulators
• Good knowledge of a clinical/medical practice operations, procedures
• Understands and identifies scheduling issues and finds solutions to improve the flow. 
• Scheduling appointments for surgical clearance, obtaining previous medical records from other providers and finding out about previous instrumentation and ordering any tests (bone density, nicotine levels, etc.) that will need preoperatively. 
• Consistent with Follow Up appointments and messages.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required. 
• Medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and medical insurance knowledge desired.
• Computer literacy required.
• Strong interpersonal skills are required.
