Surgery Veterinary Assistant
Full-Time | Monday-Thursday, 1^st shift | Hourly pay range: $16-19+/hr (based on experience)
The Premier Veterinary Group is now hiring a full- time Veterinary Assistant to join our new Surgery team (opening in October) in our BRAND-NEW 10,000 square foot facility in Mundelein, IL!!

This position is a precursor to the Veterinary Technician level. The primary responsibility of the Veterinary Assistant is to support and assist the veterinary medical staff and provide exemplary patient and client service with a keen sensitivity to the emotional bond between owners and their pets. Responsibilities for this position would include but are not limited to basic record keeping, animal restraint and husbandry, administering oral medications, stocking of medical supplies, maintaining safety and cleanliness of the workspace, radiology, bloodwork, sterile processing and other duties as needed.

About You:
You have a strong desire to learn and apply knowledge/skills learned to daily work life. You can communicate effectively both written and verbally. You are reliable and have follow-through with all work-related tasks/projects.

The best candidate for this position:

Has 1 year of experience in veterinary medicine OR completion of a veterinary assistant program
Understands and appropriately applies procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise
Can multitask, prioritize, self-motivate, work well with others and have a strong work ethic
Able to handle/restrain, sometimes fractious animals, weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
