Surgical Assistant/Scrub Technician - Cedar Lake Surgery Center - Days - PRN

Location:  1720 Medical Park Dr Biloxi, MS 39532 

Contributes to the team by assisting the physician with the performance of surgical procedures and instruments.

Education: 

• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• Must possess one of the following: Certification from an accredited school for Operating Room Technician or within 90 days of successful program completion; or graduate from an accredited practical nursing school, or extensive preparation through on-the-job training.  

Experience:  

• Minimum of two (2) years training in surgical technology from a comparable medical institution.  
• LPNs must have one (1) years’ experience as a scrub technician. Or, a graduate of an accredited program in Surgical Technology or within 90 days of successful program completion may substitute for experience. 

Licensure:   Must have current licensure as indicated by profession (LPN must be licensed by State Board of Nursing). 

Preferred:  Certification in Surgical Technology

Skills and Qualifications:  Proficient Knowledge of duties and responsibilities of a surgical technician. The ability to communicate with co-workers in a professional manner. The ability to learn advanced procedures, instruments, and techniques.
