Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and organized Surgical Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will assist with the coordination of surgical schedules, patient communications, and overall administrative support to ensure smooth and efficient operations. You will work directly with multiple surgeons, patients, and other staff to deliver a high level of service in our busy Foot and Ankle practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule surgeries for patients with multiple surgeons.
- Communicate with patients regarding surgery details, pre-operative instructions, and post-operative care.
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain surgical authorizations as needed.
- Manage patient records and ensure all necessary documentation is complete.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure smooth workflow and timely procedures.
- Assist in maintaining and updating patient schedules for follow-up appointments and post-op care.
- Handle patient inquiries related to surgery preparation, recovery, and billing.
- Maintain efficient communication between patients, physicians, and staff to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction.
- Ensure proper preparation for surgical procedures, including obtaining necessary medical records, testing, and authorizations.
- Handle administrative duties related to surgical cases, including tracking outcomes and follow-ups.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in a Surgical Coordinator role, preferably in orthopedics (experience in Foot and Ankle surgery is a plus but not required).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care.
- Experience with insurance verification, authorizations, and pre-certifications is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, staff, and patients.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work across multiple office locations in Hackensack and Edison, NJ.
Spanish-speaking ability is preferred.
