• Positions the patient in accordance with the surgeons instruction.

• Internal candidates\: Minimum five (5) years of documented experience as a certified surgical technician required.


• External candidates\: Minimum three (3) years of continuous, documented experience as a certified surgical assistant in the role of 1st assistant.

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

• Surgical First Assistant Certificate OR Surgical Technologist Certificate from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting OR Surgical Assistant Certificate OR Certified Surgical Assistant Certificate

• Basic Life Support
