Surgical Scrub Technician

We're looking for an experienced professional who can work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment and provide our patients with the care and support they need prior to surgery. The Surgical Technician will work directly with the surgeon and the circulating registered nurse. The position's duties are highly variable, so the successful candidate must be willing to change direction at a moment's notice and keep pace with the other OR professionals on staff.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons in multidisciplinary procedures


• Assemble supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physician's preference cards


• Aid in room turnovers, patient positioning, and preparing for following day cases


• Inspect equipment and instruments for proper working condition


• Maintain availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delays


• Correctly use, care for, and sterilize instruments, supplies, and equipment as directed


• Assist in storing and stocking supplies in the operating rooms

Required Education

• High school diploma or GED Certification


• Completion of an accredited surgical scrub technician program

Qualifications and Skills

• Operating room Main or ASC experience, 2 years Ortho Experience


• Familiarity with surgical instruments and equipment


• Ability to sit/stand for long periods; ability to lift 25-40 lbs.


• Strong ethical and moral character references


• Ability to communicate effectively and promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, and general public


• Ability to be punctual, make decisions,  and solve problems


• Orthopedic Surgery required


• Neurosurgery experience preferred
