Position Summary
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care throughout the surgical experience, including the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases. This role involves assessing patient needs, administering medications, monitoring patient progress, educating patients and families, and collaborating with the surgical team to ensure outstanding patient outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care during the pre-operative, operative, and recovery phases of the surgical process.
Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and other departments to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
Deliver care in accordance with established nursing standards, state nurse practice acts, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies.
Create a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and their families.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while adhering to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Follow infection prevention protocols, medication administration guidelines, and controlled substance regulations to ensure patient and staff safety.
Protect patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) considered based on experience and state requirements.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within one (1) year of employment.
One (1) year of nursing experience in a surgical, perioperative, operating room, or ambulatory surgery setting preferred.

Up to 30 pounds of force frequently
Up to 10 pounds of force constantly
Potential Exposure To:
Anesthesia gases and agents
Blood and bloodborne pathogens
Communicable diseases
Hazardous waste materials
Moving mechanical equipment
Sharps and other medical instruments
