Responsibilities:
Process and sterilize instruments to the highest standards.
Assist and handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
Gain an understanding of the procedures being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon.
Ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and function cooperatively with physicians and staff exhibiting teamwork characteristics.
Maintain the highest standard of sterile technique and vigilance of the sterile field during the surgical procedure.
Requirements
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Windows or G-Suite
Effectively work in a team environment.
Demonstrated multitasking
Basic knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge of sterile technique as it is applied to the operating room
Strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrate excellence in communication skills and ability to convey ideas and information, verbally and in writing
Strong organization and attention to detail
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
One (1) year experience as an ophthalmic assistant
