Essential Responsibilities:

• Maintain sterile field integrity and assist in complex surgical procedures
• Perform accurate surgical counts and manage surgical instrumentation
• Anticipate surgeon needs and provide prompt, precise instrument handling
• Collaborate with the perioperative team to ensure patient safety
• Prepare operating room with appropriate supplies and equipment
• Monitor sterile technique compliance among team members
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Assist in training new team members and students

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
• Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
• Registration with VA Department of Health Professions
• Strong understanding of surgical procedures and instrumentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Physical stamina for long periods of standing and lifting
