Surgical Technologist - Operating Room (OR) Specialist

Essential Responsibilities:

• Maintain sterile field integrity and enforce sterile technique protocols during surgical procedures
• Expertly handle and pass surgical instruments and supplies during operations
• Perform accurate surgical counts of instruments, sponges, and needles
• Prepare and organize surgical instrumentation and equipment for various procedures
• Assist in patient positioning and surgical prep
• Participate in perioperative care planning and implementation
• Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
• Active BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Registration with VA Department of Health Professions
• Strong understanding of surgical procedures and instrumentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move equipment
