Survey Crew Technician

About the Role:

As a Survey Crew Technician, you'll support the accurate and efficient execution of civil engineering projects by assisting with various types of land surveys. This hands-on role involves operating and maintaining advanced survey equipment, recording precise data, and working closely with a skilled team to ensure the success of projects that impact the local community.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Assist in conducting boundary, topographic, construction staking, and as-built surveys.
• Operate survey instruments, including GPS/GNSS systems, robotic total stations, and data collectors.
• Record and maintain accurate field notes, sketches, and data.
• Support the survey crew in the setup, calibration, and maintenance of equipment.
• Communicate effectively with the Survey Crew Chief and other team members to ensure timely and accurate project completion.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company standards while performing fieldwork.
• Learn and apply advanced survey techniques to support team and project needs.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience in land surveying or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with survey equipment and data collection software is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate's degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field is a bonus.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are necessary.

Physical Demands:

This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain. You'll need to walk on uneven terrain, carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and stand or move for extended periods. Safety is our top priority, and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
