Surveyor/GPS Technician

Construction Surveyor/GPS Technician is needed. Heimes Corporation is seeking qualified personnel to perform construction surveys. This position involves construction surveying, GPS layout, staking, drone surveying. Working closely with project managers and field crews on a variety of civil construction projects.

Heimes Corporation is a Construction Company based out of Omaha, Nebraska. Heimes Corp. provides a wide range of services including but not limited to: Excavating, Underground Utilities, Recycled Concrete, Plumbing, Directional Drilling, Fiber Splicing, Underground Storage Tanks, Wrecking, Transportation, and Hazardous Materials Cleaning/ Hauling (ESI).

This position is full time. Ideally looking for someone with experience in construction. Experience with CAD Software, Trimble Business Center, and understanding of Civil engineering plans and construction layout is beneficial but not required. Being able to read and understand basic civil construction plans is necessary.  A degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.

Job consists of:  

• Construction Staking jobsites.


• Verify elevations and reference points on jobsites.


• Topographic surveys.


• Communicating directly with job foreman/superintendents & GPS Manager.


• Burning chips.


• Setting up bases.


• Basic GPS troubleshooting & calibration on equipment.


• Basic CAD work w/Trimble Business Center.


• Taking survey data and performing calculations.
  

Job is a new position within our growing GPS/Drone department.  You will be reporting to the GPS Manager who has over 20+ years of experience.  

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and abide by DOT regulations. Zero tolerance policy for cell phone use while behind the wheel (including hands free devices). Must have a valid driver's license with no Suspensions the past 3+ years.  Must have a clean background and be able to pass an extensive background check.  Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more for this position.  Work is 90% outdoor work & 10% indoors.  Must be able to work in all weather conditions.  We utilize the E-Verify system for employment eligibility. For construction safety reasons applicant must speak and understand the English Language. 

Pay varies on previous experience.
