We're looking for a dependable and hardworking Sustainability Sorter to join our team. If you enjoy staying active, working with your hands, and contributing to efforts that help keep reusable and recyclable materials out of the waste stream, this could be a great opportunity for you.
Position Summary
The Sustainability Sorter works in our production warehouse to inspect, sort, organize, and process recycling materials. This position operates recycling and production equipment, maintains a safe and organized work area, and works toward established daily production goals.
This is an active, hands-on position that requires the ability to stay focused, work independently, and maintain productivity throughout the workday.
What You'll Do
Inspect and sort materials according to type, size, composition, condition, or color.
Position and label containers along the sorting line.
Safely operate balers, compactors, conveyors, and other recycling equipment.
Remove contaminants from the sorting line using appropriate tools.
Stack, move, dump, and organize boxes and materials.
Maintain a clean and safe production area.
Follow established safety and equipment operating procedures.
Document quantities, weights, or types of materials sorted as required.
Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, contamination issues, and workplace incidents.
Meet and maintain established daily production goals.
What We're Looking For
High school diploma required.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Ability to read, write, perform basic math, and complete simple paperwork.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to concentrate, stay on task, and work independently.
Team-focused and dependable.
Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
Ability to stand, push, bend, stoop, and pull for extended periods.
Ability to bend, push, and lift 50 pounds or more.
Ability to work outdoors when necessary.
