Job Description - SVP, Credit Administration Officer

The Credit Administration Officer hires, manages, and trains credit staff and assures commercial loan requests are analyzed and submitted for approval within acceptable timeframes. Ensures compliance with applicable loans and other policies, interacts regularly with line lenders and lending management, proposes modifications to loan or other policies, when appropriate, and serves as a vital component of the organization’s credit culture. Advises all affiliated bank lending and portfolio management staff on commercial credit and lending considerations.


Requirements

Essential Job Functions

  • Hires and oversees training of credit staff.
  • Manages credit analysis workflow across all affiliated banks to ensure analytical work is completed on time and is consistent with company standards.
  • Employs the company’s commercial loan operating system and recommends changes and enhancements, as needed, to fully utilize the system.
  • Answers questions and provides guidance to lending staff at affiliated banks related to loan policy, loan structuring, and other matters.
  • Manage all aspects of underwriting commercial loan requests through the company’s Business Banking department.
  • Approves credit actions as a Bank Credit Signor as authorized under loan policy.
  • Confirms accuracy of risk ratings for all credit and approval documents reviewed by credit staff.
  • Directs and coordinates preparation and responses for all external and internal loan reviews.
  • Responds to internal and external examiners prior to, during and after examination processes, as needed.
  • Coordinates and distributes credit approval and other documents f individuals and committees.
  • Produces minutes of loan approval meetings if requested, and provides other administrative support to committees, as needed.
  • Produces required reporting to manage credit workflow or for internal reporting, as needed.
  • Oversees annual review and other portfolio management requirements to assure related tasks are completed on time.
  • Actively stays current on all Bank products, services, procedures, policies, and applicable regulatory and compliance requirements by regularly attending team meetings, completing mandatory training on schedule, and applying knowledge to ensure accuracy and compliance in daily operations. 
  • Ensures adherence to federal and state laws, regulations, and bank policies by preventing violations, minimizing risks, and safeguarding the Bank’s interests. 
  • Verifies transactions and account balances, ensuring compliance with bank policies and state and federal regulations and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), as applicable to the role.

Other Duties

  • Performs additional duties, as directed by management.
  • Complies with all related consumer regulatory requirements.

Qualifications, Experience, and Education

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum 10 years of direct credit, lending, or portfolio management experience.
  • Prior formal credit training.
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills.
  • Strong organizational skills. 
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
