Switchboard Attendant - Per Diem

SWITCHBOARD ATTENDANT

SUMMARY
To operate the switchboard console; to provide communication link to physicians and staff members; to monitor the alarm panel; to announce codes within Meadville Medical Center; and to provide assistance to patients and visitors.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent secondary education
Must be extremely customer service oriented
Communication skills must be above average to excellent
Communicate with public sector by verbal telephone use
Communicate with anxious and hostile people
Able to communicate with Administrative Staff, Managers, Physicians and other members of the healthcare team tactfully and confidentially.
