Position Summary 

Lincoln Electric Products Co. Inc. is currently seeking a Mechanical Assembler – Lead to join our dynamic and growing team. This leadership role is ideal for a hands-on assembler with proven experience in mechanical assembly and a strong aptitude for mentoring others. The Mechanical Assembler – Lead will be responsible for guiding a team in the assembly, installation, and quality assurance of mechanical components in switchgear systems. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a strong opportunity for career growth.

 Job responsibilities

  • Lead a team of mechanical assemblers in the daily production and assembly of switchgear systems.
  • Assemble and mount mechanical components such as circuit breakers, disconnect switches, control panels, bus bars, and other structural components based on engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Ensure all mechanical assemblies meet quality, safety, and alignment specifications.
  • Conduct or oversee in-process inspections and assist Quality Control (QC) with final inspections.
  • Train and mentor new assemblers, ensuring adherence to company standards and Standard Work Instructions.
  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with engineering, electrical, and production teams to identify and resolve assembly issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work completed, modifications, and inspection records.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required  
  • Prior experience in switchgear or mechanical assembly required; leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred  
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and Standard Work Instructions  
  • Proficient in the use of handheld power tools (e.g., impact guns) and measuring tools (e.g., tape measure)  
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety  
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team in a fast-paced production environment  
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills  

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods  
  • Must be able to lift 70+ pounds  
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and noisy production setting
