504 and Intervention Compliance Coordinator

Job Overview

The compliance facilitator is committed to ensuring school compliance with Section 504 and special education regulations and requirements and works closely with the special education team to support student growth.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the team with the Compliance Manager; many tasks are completed with support and guidance of the LAMB Compliance Manager
  • Ensure student support services staff abide by IDEA and local regulations
  • Support compliance with student support services files
  • Own compliant scheduling and dissemination of 504 Plans for students
  • Own scheduling and compliance with LAMBs Response to Intervention process, maintaining a focus on data gathering and analysis
  • Support scheduling of RtI AED, Eligibility, and 504 meetings in a timely manner
  • Facilitate AED, Eligibility, and 504 Meetings 
  • Maintain the special education database system (Special Programs)
  • Support teachers and case managers with the necessary documentation and collecting data required for AED, IEligibility, and 504 meetings 
  • Process and monitor Part B referrals, working closely with school psychologists and other related service providers to ensure assessments are completed in a timely manner
  • Coordinate the implementation of accommodations on state and local testing in collaboration with school teams
  • Monitor and review compliance with draft requirements (all drafts, documents, and evaluations provided to families 5 business days in advance of meetings, etc.)
  • Ensure 504 and RtI plans comply with federal and district regulations and best practices in the field 
  • Facilitate data-based discussions to help the team design IEPs and 504s to best support student growth
  • Work with the classroom teachers to draft and implement RtI and 504 Plans  
  • Attend professional development workshops, conferences, and meetings to stay abreast of current topics in special education
  • Communicate with families to address parental concerns and questions related to their child’s progress, intervention, and supports
  • Monitor completion of monthly service trackers for related service providers
  • Other duties as assigned
 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bilingual - Spanish/English (Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • 4 years of relevant special education experience (preferred)
  • Experience teaching in an urban school (preferred)
  • Certified in Special Education (recommended)
  • Certificate in Montessori Education (recommended) 
  • Excellent oral and written communicator (required)
  • Analytic, problem-solving mindset (required)

Reports to: Director of Student Support 

Schedule:  10-month full-time position

Compensation
