Center for Family Life (CFL) is seeking site monitors to work in the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). SYEP provides summer jobs to youth and young adults, ages 14-21. As an SYEP provider, CFL is responsible for carrying out an experiential and educational employment program for hundreds of youth participants, involving more than one hundred worksites throughout Brooklyn.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To provide support critical to the successful rollout and implementation of SYEP.
REPORTS TO: Program Director
SUPERVISES: N/A
I. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to
Recruit and enroll youth and young adult participants
Review participant intake documents to verify information
Verify file accuracy
Collect and check timesheets for accuracy
Monitor worksites to ensure safe and productive work environments
Interview participants and worksite supervisors to assess the quality of the sites
Complete daily written reports of worksite visits
Perform general office duties: answer multi-line phone, check voicemails, file documents, etc., as necessary
II. QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Degree minimum requirement: High School or Equivalency Diploma
Years of Experience: At least one year of youth work or office-related experience required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and dependable
Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office: Word, Excel, etc.)
Good command of English both oral and written
Great customer service skills
Bilingual: English/Mandarin/Cantonese or English/Spanish, preferred
III. RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS
Build and maintain close, daily interactions with participants, co-workers, and supervisors
Effectively communicate with teenagers, parents, and outside agency staff
Forge a mutually respectful partnership with the people served and their families
Maintain contact as needed with participant’s families, school personnel, and external community groups to co-exist in the same space
Have a strong sensitivity to cultural differences present among staff and clients within our organization
Possess a strong belief in people’s ability to grow and change
IV. WORKING CONDITIONS
Actively engage and interact with teens, parents, coworkers, and outside agency staff
Fast-paced, high-energy environment
Expected to travel daily to monitor and visit worksites (Metrocard provided)
Expected to travel to worksites in various weather conditions
V. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Site monitors/clerks will visit worksites for quality assurance and provide administrative support.
Timeframe: May 2025 - End of August 2025
Salary: $17- $19 per hour
This is a full-time temporary position at 35 hours per week.
