Syndicate Operations Settlement Senior Analyst - Getzville (Hybrid)

Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business and has significant impact across the lifecycle of a Trade.  We partner extensively with a range of internal stakeholders including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having significant interaction with our external client base, playing a key role in the overall client experience. We have a Client relationship group dedicated to overseeing the group service performance and strategic partnership for our top tier client base, where we play a key role in supporting our global clients to ensure they have a first-class experience when doing business with Citi.

Our Digitization and Implementation group works alongside our Operations teams delivering automation solutions to solve for operational challenges.  We partner with Citi’s innovation labs to drive optimization and overall play a pivotal role in enabling us to transform to achieve our target operating model.

Our Technology groups develop and implement a wide range of applications that support the Operations, Change, Design, and Implementation groups in providing innovative products and solutions. Job Purpose:

The analyst will be responsible for supporting the NAM BCMA business. As part of the BCMA operations settlements team, the analyst will collaborate closely with a variety of stakeholders ranging from the banking team, Middle Office, settlement teams, account control groups and Product Control working toward the shared goal of providing the best service to clients and ensuring any trade queries and discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities:

• Support NAM BCMA Group businesses

• Develop and implement business initiatives, client solutions, or projects affiliated with securities and derivatives settlement

• Solve complex inquiries, conduct discovery, and complete due diligence activities for client requests

• Provide detailed analysis of escalated issues when necessary and recommend actions for resolution

• Contribute to processing standards and expectations for securities settlement processing teams

• Develop and implement business plans, policies, and procedures that offer solutions and cost saving opportunities

• Manage daily performance related to securities and derivatives post-settlement activities of operations processes

• Propose solutions to implement settlement process improvements, client service enhancements, or overall technology enhancements in line with operating model.

• Coordinate with internal and external clients to assess service quality and identify areas for improvement

• Act as an advisor to new/junior staff

• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

• Understanding of Trade Life Cycle and Operations experience

• Some accounting experience preferred

• Relevant experience in a related role

• Ability to work under pressure and manage to deadlines

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

• Attention to detail and advanced problem-solving skills

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
