System Administrator - Get Hired Fast

PGS Worldwide is actively seeking a skilled System Administrator to support ongoing projects for an Aerospace leader in Washington, DC. This is an initial 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity and I will respond immediately to all qualified candidates.

Job Description:

As an onsite System Administrator, you will focus on supporting the customers Model Based System Engineering Environment. This will involve supporting both Windows and Linux operating system and the tools running on the servers.

Responsibilities:

• Installation, configuration, hardening, patching, tuning, upgrading, and archiving of Windows and Linux Servers .
• Installation, configuration, hardening, patching, tuning, and upgrading of system engineering tools: DOORS, Teamwork Cloud, JIRA and Confluence, Cassandra Database.
• Implementing system security policies (DISA STIGs)
• Troubleshooting Windows and Linux Server issues.
• Troubleshooting system engineering tool issues.
• Automating deployment and sustainment tasks.
• Providing training to users and coworkers on IT systems.
• Vulnerability scanning and remediation.
• Basic network administration.
• Providing Tier 2 & Tier 3 ticket support.
• Performing software evaluations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of related professional work experience, or will consider 4 years of related professional work experience in lieu of a degree.
• An active Secret clearance. Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
• Must have a DoD IAT Level II certification (Security+, CCNA-Security, CySA+,GICSP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP).
• A minimum of 4 years’ experience with Windows Server operating system.
• Experience hardening systems in accordance with DOD guidelines applying DISA STIG settings.
• Experience with Linux scripting languages to automate tasks.
• Experience with PowerShell to automate tasks.
• Experience evaluating systems and software against DISA STIG settings (i.e. Apache web server, MySQL server).
• The ability to understand and remediate SCAP and ACAS findings.
• Must be capable of developing and refining automation scripts for system management.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP and supporting protocols.
• Basic knowledge of virtualization (VMware preferred).
• Basic understanding of relational databases (Oracle and/or MySQL).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Self-motivation and ability to work independently.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with partners and government officials.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Common Access Card (CAC) along with badge access to the customer’s facility.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a network account in good standing on the customer’s network.

Desired:

• Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of related professional work experience.
• An active Top Secret clearance.
• Experience planning and deploying complex toolsets on top of the Linux and Windows Servers.
