Systems Administrator

We are seeking a Systems Administrator to lead administration and optimization of our Microsoft 365 environment while supporting core on-premise infrastructure and internal systems. This role blends hands-on execution with strategic input—owning day-to-day administration while helping shape the direction of our cloud and platform usage. The position reports directly to the CTO and serves as an escalation point for the helpdesk team. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Microsoft 365 Administration (Primary Focus)
  
  
  
  • Manage and administer Microsoft 365 environment, including licensing, user lifecycle, and platform configuration
  
  
  • Drive effective use of Microsoft 365 services across the organization (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)
  
  
  • Develop and maintain structure, governance, and best practices to support continued migration to cloud-based services
  
  
  • Support and expand use of Power Platform tools (Power Automate)
  
  
  • Assist with emerging technologies including Microsoft Copilot and AI-driven productivity tools
  
  
  • Monitor system health, usage trends, and optimization opportunities
  
  
  
  


• Infrastructure & Systems Administration (Hybrid Environment)

  • Support on-premise infrastructure, including Hyper-V virtualization environment
  
  
  • Perform system upgrades and maintenance for internally hosted and third-party vendor systems
  
  
  • Coordinate issue resolution and project work between vendors and internal business units
  
  
  • Assist with system performance, reliability, and lifecycle planning
  
  
  
  


• Operations & Internal Support

  • Serve as an escalation point for IT staff
  
  
  • Document systems, configurations, and operational procedures
  
  
  • Partner with IT Security to ensure appropriate access controls, file permissions, and system configurations
  
  
  • Support internal IT initiatives and projects as needed
  
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Required
  
  
  
  • 5+ years of systems administration experience in a hybrid (cloud + on-prem) environment
  
  
  • Strong experience administering Microsoft 365 (user management, licensing, core services)
  
  
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102)
  
  
  • Experience supporting Windows Server environments and virtualization (Hyper-V)
  
  
  • Ability to troubleshoot across systems, vendors, and platforms
  
  
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills

  • Experience with Power Automate and/or Power Platform
  
  
  • Exposure to Microsoft Copilot or similar productivity/AI tools
  
  
  • Experience supporting cloud migration or hybrid environment transitions
  
  
  • Familiarity with vendor-supported systems and coordinating third-party support engagements
  
  
  • Experience creating operational standards or governance frameworks
