Overview
Seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator / Engineer II to support mission-critical cyber and IT operations. This role requires a strong background in systems engineering, network architecture, and cybersecurity, with hands-on experience across cloud, physical, and virtual environments.
The ideal candidate will serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME), supporting the design, configuration, automation, and optimization of enterprise systems and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network and system architectures
- Serve as a Cyber SME supporting secure system design and implementation
- Develop and implement automation and orchestration solutions to improve operational efficiency
- Manage and support cloud, physical, and virtualized environments
- Integrate and maintain open-source technologies and tools
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability
- Support cybersecurity initiatives and ensure compliance with DoD standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support mission and operational requirements
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Management, or related field
OR equivalent relevant experience
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Cyber SME, Systems Engineer, or Architect
- Hands-on experience with:
- Network design and configuration
- Systems engineering and architecture
- Automation and orchestration tools
- Open-source technologies
- Cloud, physical, and virtual environments
Certifications
- Must meet DoDM 8140.03 IAT II certification requirements
Clearance
- Active Top Secret (TS) with SCI eligibility required
Core Skills
- Strong knowledge of enterprise IT systems and network architecture
- Expertise in cybersecurity principles and secure system design
- Proficiency in automation, scripting, and orchestration tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting DoD or federal government environments
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and modern infrastructure frameworks
- Experience with containerization or virtualization technologies
