Job Description
Works under the direction of the Principal Systems Engineer to manage and support core enterprise systems, including virtualization platforms, Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, Azure services, storage, backups, middleware, and third-party applications. Provides Tier 2/3 operational support, performs system maintenance, and assists with lifecycle management of infrastructure components.

- Administers VMware hosts, virtual machines, and hypervisor resources, including configuration, optimization, and routine maintenance.
- Manages Windows and Linux servers, including patching, updates, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Supports Active Directory, group policy, identity services, and authentication integrations.
- Administers Azure and other cloud-based services, including compute, storage, and identity components.
- Provides system administration support for third-party enterprise applications and middleware platforms.
- Manages storage systems, shared storage environments, and backup/restore operations.
- Provides Tier 2/3 support for system incidents, service failures, and escalated technical issues.
- Executes routine maintenance tasks, including patching, lifecycle refreshes, and configuration updates.
- Maintains system documentation, diagrams, inventories, and configuration baselines.
- Assists with infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and deployment of new systems.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience
- Five to seven years of experience supporting enterprise systems or infrastructure environments.
- Proficiency with VMware virtualization, Windows Server, Linux administration, and enterprise directory services.
- Experience managing Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, group policies, and related identity components.
- Working knowledge of Azure cloud services and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Experience with storage systems, backups, and recovery tools.
- Ability to administer third-party enterprise applications and middleware platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for Tier 2/3-level system issues.
- Ability to follow established procedures, manage configurations, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Industry certifications preferred (e.g., VCP, MCSA/MCSE, Linux+, Azure Administrator).
