Society Insurance is seeking an experienced

Systems Analyst

to join our team. This position serves as a liaison between the Product Owner, key stakeholders, and the agile team working to define system requirements and turn them into technical specifications in the form of user stories/acceptance criteria and associated artifacts. The Systems Analyst will also support system enhancements, defect resolution, and testing to ensure quality. This position will help align existing and emerging business systems with the company’s overall strategy and requirements.

About the Role
Reviews, analyzes, and translates business details into technical requirements. Writes detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop/modify computer systems.
Advises business on system functions and capabilities to ensure the system meets business needs.
Develops solutions for business system implementations and needed alterations. May perform application/system configuration changes and/or serve as an administrator.
Works as a member of an agile team and assists the Product Owner (PO) and business departments with eliciting user stories and acceptance criteria to improve existing systems. Places focus on the business value to be delivered. Assists the PO with creation and prioritization of user stories.
Defines, implements, and assists application development quality assurance (QA) and system regression testing including planning, creating, evaluating, and tracking testing results.
Enables, promotes, and improves systems analysis and agile processes. Estimates systems analysis efforts on user stories.
Demonstrates practical experience in a variety of insurance industry concepts, practices, and procedures while interacting with employees, outside vendors, and consultants.
Facilitates the completion of user stories/features to include coordinating communication with other agile teams, writing documentation and specifications, testing, and consulting.
Assists in the selection, development, and implementation of systems analysis tools and processes.
Provides consultation on complex projects and solves problems.

What it Will Take

Associate’s degree in computer science or a business-related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of work experience related to information systems and/or business analysis.
Experience gathering and writing detailed business/technical system requirements and/or user stories and associated artifacts, such as data mapping.
A passion for delivering high-quality software and a drive to constantly improve and evolve processes.
Basic understanding of SQL.
Experience working within a project-management environment and utilizing manual/automated system application testing. This includes developing, documenting, and executing test cases.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Communication skills to seek out details, express ideas, and present solutions in ways the audience can understand. This may involve researching, interviewing, and anticipation of how to apply a solution to a current or new process.
Prior experience working within the insurance industry and an agile environment highly desirable.
Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps and Test Manager highly desirable.
