We are looking for a Systems Engineer to play a key role in the design and delivery of a new generation of transportation technology platforms. Working across the full systems engineering lifecycle, you will translate customer and operational needs into requirements, architecture, interfaces, integration strategies and verification activities. This role would suit someone with strong systems engineering experience within complex software-led environments, particularly back-office, transactional, payments, transportation or other highly integrated platforms.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Work with customers and stakeholders to understand business, operational and technical needs and translate them into clear, testable system requirements.
* Develop and decompose system, subsystem, functional, non-functional and interface requirements.
* Maintain end-to-end requirements traceability from stakeholder needs through architecture, implementation, integration and verification.
* Work with architects and engineering teams to define system architecture, APIs, interfaces, data flows and integration points.
* Support the development and integration of high-volume back-office and transactional platforms, including customer, payment, roadside and third-party systems.
* Define verification methods, acceptance criteria and integration test scenarios to demonstrate compliance with system requirements.
* Work closely with software, integration, test and product teams throughout the design, development, integration and V&V lifecycle.
Skills and Experience:
* Understanding of system and software architecture, including APIs, interfaces, microservices and data flows.
* Strong understanding of system integration, verification and validation (V&V) and requirements-based testing.
* Experience working closely with software developers, architects, integration teams, testers and customer stakeholders.
* Experience with back-office platforms, transaction processing, payments, customer management, tolling, ITS or roadside technology would be highly desirable.
* Knowledge of structured systems engineering methodologies such as the V-model.
* Experience with requirements and modelling tools such as DOORS/DOORS NG, Cameo, MagicDraw or SysML would be beneficial.
* Experience working on large-scale, high-availability or mission-critical software platforms would be advantageous.
* A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
