We drive innovation to ensure our cutting-edge solutions are helping to solve the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry. \n\n \n\n## The impact you\u2019ll make\n\nAs a Systems Engineer at Lam, you\u0027ll design complex frameworks, systems, or products for our wafer fabrication equipment. You will define system specifications, requirements, parameters, and compatibility to integrate hardware, software, and firmware into a cohesive system. Identifying, analyzing, and resolving system design weaknesses combined with your multi-layered technical expertise you help shape the next generation of Lam initiatives.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do\n\nAs a Staff Systems Engineer, you are accountable for the product meeting the System Specifications. You will own and manage the system specification and system architecture, drive integration across sub\u2011systems, reconcile design tradeoffs, and ensure the product achieves performance, cost, compliance and all the \"ilitiy\" targets throughout the lifecycle.\n\n * Decompose the system into functional sub\u2011systems/blocks\n * Own the high\u2011level BOM structure\n * Provide the major assembly cost allocation model\n * Act as a key stakeholder in program and engineering design reviews\n * Ensure DFx criteria and Compliance are met\n * Accountable for FMEAs\n * Develop system\u2011level test plans and approve sub\u2011system level test and spec verification plans\n * Accountable for the completion of all Engineering Documentation\n\n\n\n## Who we\u2019re looking for\n\n * Minimum of 12 years of related experience with an EE, ME or other science Bachelor\u2019s degree; or 8 years and a Master\u2019s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience in the Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment Industry\n * Has a proven successful track record as a Senior Hardware Design Engineer with ownership of multiple subsystems or entire systems or\n * Has a proven successful track record as a Senior System Design Engineer with ownership of multiple subsystems or entire systems and proven ownership of system specifications and system architecture for multi\u2011disciplinary products.\n * Demonstrated leadership of DFx adoption and FMEA creation/approval; experience driving risk closure from RPN prioritization through mitigation\n * Track record of delivering cost\u2011aligned designs and leading tradeoff decisions under aggressive program schedule\n\n\n\n## Preferred qualifications\n\n * Working knowledge of SEMI and safety standards (e.g., SEMI S2/S23, UL/CE) and product compliance processes.\n * Expertise with SysML tools (e.g., CATIA/MagicDraw), requirements management, model\u2011based systems engineering, data analysis (MATLAB/Python), and DFx analytics.\n * Strong cross\u2011functional leadership with Engineering, Product/Program Management, Technical Owners, Manufacturing, Test/Lab; effective communication in reviews and executive updates.\n\n\n\n## Our commitment\n\n \n\nWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories \u2013 On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. \u2018On-site Flex\u2019 you\u2019ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. \u2018Virtual Flex\u2019 you\u2019ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.\n\nSalary\n\nCA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $141,000.00 - $307,000.00.\n\nThe above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.
