Job Description - Systems Engineer ARCHIBUS SME


 As the Senior System Engineer, you will provide technical direction and senior engineering expertise across the following task areas:

  • Provide senior technical direction and engineering leadership for operations and maintenance of implemented ARCHIBUS applications, including Space Inventory, Occupancy, Enterprise Assets, Corrective and Preventive Maintenance, Space Planning, Emergency Preparedness, Hazardous Materials, Service Desk, Hoteling, Workplace, Leases, mobile framework, and Smart Client with AutoCAD
  • Lead and direct software technical operations across the ARCHIBUS environment, encompassing platform upgrades, infrastructure support, help desk services, defect resolution, enhancement and release development, deployment planning and execution, configuration management, system administration, and end-user support and training.
  • Direct requirements gathering, business requirements analysis, legacy system assessments, and solution design for new ARCHIBUS application implementations. 
  • Develop and deliver Requirements Analysis and Assessment Reports, Solution Design Reports, and Implementation Plan Reports in coordination with stakeholders. 
  • Lead the architecture, development, and implementation of integrations between ARCHIBUS, custom developed applications, and other enterprise software. 
  • Provide operational oversight, technical engineering support, and continuous system optimization to ensure stable, efficient, and high-performing system operations.
  • Architect integration solutions using event-driven architectures, APIs, microservices, and common data environments to enable secure, scalable, and reliable data exchange. 
  • Ensure all system integration and development efforts comply with federal security policies, data governance requirements, and industry best practices. 
  • Oversee enterprise expansion of ARCHIBUS to additional users and expanded use of available functionality, including data imports for space, employee, and facility maintenance records. 
  • Configure workflows, manage user account setup, enable mobile applications, and provide User Acceptance Testing support. 
  • Support overall program strategy and implementation planning, applying Agile-Kanban methodologies to manage work through a pull-based system and enable continuous, incremental delivery. 

Requirements

Required Qualifications  

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology,  or a related field.
  • Minimum  of 20 years of experience in systems engineering, IT program management, or a closely related area of expertise.
  • Demonstrated experience providing direction and senior-level management for large and/or complex projects or programs.
  • Experience supporting ARCHIBUS-based solutions for Federal agencies, including cloud  infrastructure environments.
  • Experience as an ARCHIBUS partner trained in the latest ARCHIBUS software technology, with a track record of multiple enterprise project deployments and multi-year history supporting large enterprise deployments.
  • Experience with advanced software development and systems integration.
  • Demonstrated experience with COTS-based projects using Agile-Kanban and iterative development methodologies.
  • Experience leveraging modern data-sharing technologies including APIs, microservices,  and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with and integration of ARCHIBUS with existing enterprise systems and databases.

  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree and/or relevant certifications in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • Familiarity with Federal Real Property Management, Facilities Operations, and asset life-cycle planning processes.
