Job Summary 

Configure, install, maintain and troubleshoot complex enterprise network systems including multi-layer switching, routing, and wireless in a Cisco environment. Position requires advanced configuration and support of BGP, OSPF and EIGRP routing, Cisco IOS-XE, Cisco NX-OS, Quality of Service, Access Control Lists, Cisco wireless LAN controller implementations, wireless survey tools, IP Address Management Platform, etc. Strong candidate will have implementation and support experience with Cisco/Viptela SD-WAN Platform, Cisco DNA Center (automation, assurance, and SD-Access), and/or Cisco ACI. Must have own dependable transportation.

Essential Functions 

• Maintains within established levels, the technical performance of network systems supporting the Atrium enterprise, which includes hospitals, medical office buildings, physician practices, administrative and financial offices, and all support facilities.


• Monitors system performance and takes appropriate action to insure the best performance and utilization of network resources.


• Supports the Cisco networking systems, working with multiple IS departments and vendors to provide stable and reliable network connectivity.


• Recommends and implements designed network solutions, understanding the ramifications for problems within Information Services.


• Work closely with Design teams to evaluate and recommend advanced network systems.


• Assumes leadership roles on projects and within team.


• Defines protocol for working with customers and appropriately balances needs and resources.


• Works well under pressure, able to multi-task.


• Has working knowledge of IP address subnetting, DNS and BIND.


• Develops and implements process improvement initiatives within Information Services.


• Understands basic concepts of project management. Able to develop and execute project plans for network system implementations.


• Work often requires interaction with Atrium IS administration.

Physical Requirements

Work is subject to high-level visibility through exposure to Atrium Health administration. This position will require high degree of proficiency in verbal and written communications. Must be available for callback support on a regular basis. This position requires evenings and weekend hours at times for conversions, due to schedules. Employee does not have direct patient contact. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.

Education, Experience, and Certification

High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or job related field preferred. At least 8 years experience installing and supporting sophisticated information systems in a health care environment utilizing client/server technologies. Advanced Cisco certification preferred. Formal training in a variety of information systems technology preferred.
