Job Description - Systems Support Specialist

The Systems Support Specialist will be critical in supporting beginning administrators across the Arch Ford region. This includes new superintendents, principals, assistant principals, and LEA supervisors. The position will oversee the implementation and support of the Arkansas Administrator Preparation Program. The position will guide districts in developing, aligning, and submitting strategic plans (AR APP) to the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). This role will also serve as a key collaborator with the Arch Ford School Improvement Team, ensuring alignment between instructional leadership, school improvement strategies, and district systems development.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Coordinate and lead mentoring and support services for beginning administrators, including superintendents, principals, assistant principals, and LEA supervisors within the region.

  • Serve as the lead liaison for AR APP, providing support, tracking progress, and ensuring program fidelity.

  • Facilitate the development of strategic plans with school districts and support the alignment of district goals with DESE requirements and timelines.

  • Guide districts in the submission process of strategic plans to DESE, offering technical assistance and coaching throughout.

  • Collaborate with the Arch Ford School Improvement Team to integrate systems-level thinking into school and district improvement initiatives.

  • Design and deliver professional learning opportunities related to leadership development, systems thinking, and continuous improvement.

  • Analyze regional needs and use data to inform and prioritize support strategies for beginning administrators and district leaders.

  • Maintain strong communication and collaborative relationships with DESE and other educational cooperatives across the state.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Administrator to support the mission and vision of Arch Ford.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or related field (Doctorate preferred).

  • Valid Arkansas building or district-level administrative license.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience as a school superintendent or assistant superintendent.

  • Strong knowledge of state and federal accountability systems, DESE expectations, and strategic planning processes.

  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring or coaching school and/or district leaders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently across multiple districts and stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with AR APP or similar leadership development programs.

  • Experience working in or with educational cooperatives or regional service centers.

  • Familiarity with school improvement frameworks and systems support models.
