Position Summary

As a Hawkers Takeout (HTO) Team Member, you are the bridge between our kitchen and our guests who order by phone, online, or in person for pick-up. You’ll be responsible for delivering an outstanding off-premise guest experience — one that makes every guest want to come back. This is a front-line guest service role that requires accuracy, speed, warmth, and a genuine passion for hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

• Take food and drink orders accurately and enthusiastically via phone and for walk-in to-go guests, representing the Hawkers brand with every interaction.
• Develop thorough knowledge of our menu in order to guide guests, answer questions, and make personalized suggestions.
• Navigate our online ordering platform and third-party delivery systems (e.g., DoorDash, Uber Eats) with accuracy and efficiency to ensure every order is correct.
• Organize and stage completed HTO orders for guest pick-up in a timely, well-presented manner.
• Greet guests arriving warmly, confirm order accuracy, and hand off with a great experience in mind.
• Process payments accurately using our Point of Sale (POS) system; ensure security and proper handling of guest information.
• Communicate effectively and positively with kitchen staff, server assistants, and other team members to keep operations running smoothly during high-volume periods.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the HTO section throughout each shift, including side work at open, during service, and close.
• Adhere to all OSHA and HACCP compliance standards and maintain or obtain a Food Handlers Certification.
• Support the broader team as needed — at Hawkers, we all pitch in.

Qualifications

Required

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy under pressure.
• Positive, guest-first attitude and genuine enthusiasm for hospitality.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Must have or be willing to obtain Food Handlers Certification.
• Success in this role requires genuine hospitality, urgency, adaptability, strong communication, and the ability to stay composed in a high-volume environment.

Preferred

• Prior experience in a restaurant, hospitality, or guest-facing role.
• Familiarity with POS systems and/or third-party delivery platforms.
• Passion for food, culture, and adventure.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to frequently stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach above shoulder level for the duration of a shift.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
• Must be able to work in a climate-controlled restaurant environment with varying noise levels.
