Summary:

This role sits within a talent acquisition team guided by a recruiting team lead and works alongside recruiters and hiring managers. The Talent Acquisition Specialist focuses on finding suitable candidates, screening applications, and keeping recruitment activity moving so hiring teams can make informed decisions. You work with candidates and interviewers to clarify role expectations, share updates, and maintain an organized candidate experience. This fully remote position lets you work from home in Maryland, United States, supporting recruiting activities through online systems and virtual conversations. The role requires a 40-hour weekly commitment. Working days and shift times may vary.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review new hiring requests and application queues, confirming role requirements, selection criteria, and next steps with the assigned recruiter before beginning candidate outreach.
  • Find potential candidates through approved professional networks and job boards, using targeted searches that reflect the experience and capabilities outlined for each opening.
  • Review resumes against agreed job requirements and record relevant experience, screening outcomes, and candidate status in an applicant-tracking system such as Lever.
  • Conduct initial candidate screening conversations to discuss relevant experience, interest, availability, and role expectations, then summarize findings for recruiter review without making hiring commitments.
  • Respond to candidate inquiries through recruiting email queues, explain the interview process, and provide approved information about the position and next steps.
  • Arrange interviews through a scheduling and calendar tool such as Microsoft Outlook, confirming interviewer availability, meeting links, and candidate attendance before each conversation.
  • Track pending feedback and candidate responses, following up when agreed response windows pass and keeping recruiters informed of delays that affect progress.
  • Escalate unclear selection criteria, conflicting feedback, or candidate concerns to the recruiting team lead, providing factual notes and identifying the decision needed.
  • Update candidate stages after recruiter decisions, send approved status messages, and confirm that completed searches have accurate outcomes and complete handoff notes.
  • Review work against accuracy, turnaround, complete notes, and timely follow-up standards, sharing recurring sourcing or scheduling obstacles during team check-ins to improve coordination.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • About 1-2 years of recruiting, candidate sourcing, or talent acquisition support experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with resume screening, candidate pipelines, interview stages, and matching experience to job requirements.
  • Understanding of targeted candidate searches, Boolean search techniques, and professional outreach that reflects the role accurately.
  • Ability to use applicant-tracking systems and shared calendars while maintaining accurate candidate stages and interview details.
  • Clear written and verbal communication for candidate conversations, screening summaries, recruiter updates, and sensitive feedback discussions.
  • Sound judgment when handling candidate information, maintaining confidentiality, and referring decisions beyond assigned responsibilities to the recruiting team lead.
  • A reliable computer, high-speed internet, and quiet private workspace, with availability for the 40-hour weekly commitment and agreed working days and shift times.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Perks & Benefits:

  • Fully remote work from home with recruiting responsibilities completed through online systems and virtual team communication.
  • Structured onboarding and training on the applicant-tracking system and scheduling and calendar tool named above, including screening and interview coordination procedures.
  • Regular check-ins with the recruiting team lead to review priorities, discuss candidate situations, and receive practical feedback.
  • Opportunities to build candidate sourcing, interviewing, recruitment coordination, and pipeline tracking skills through day-to-day work.
  • Health coverage, paid leave, a 401(k), maternity leave, and bonus opportunities.
