Position Summary
Responsible for developing and executing innovative talent acquisition strategies which champion inclusive hiring practices and work culture. This role plays a critical part in attracting, sourcing, and hiring top-tier, diverse talent that aligns with the Vision: To embrace one another’s uniqueness while promoting an inclusive working environment with a commitment to enriching and representing all the communities we serve.
This person will be a partner with hiring managers, HR and leadership to ensure recruitment processes are equitable and reflect the organization’s commitment to DEI. This person will also develop and implement organizational DEI programs, initiatives and training to foster an inclusive culture across Financial Plus. Through data analysis, engagement, and best practices to ensure DEI principles are embedded throughout the employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding to development and retention.
Essential Functions & Primary Responsibilities
- Lead, implement, and maintain DEI programs and initiatives to advance our DEI vision.
- Foster and maintain a culture of inclusivity through employee resource groups (ERGs)/affinity groups to increase overall engagement and job satisfaction.
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME) offering knowledge and insight on best practices as well as DEI related issues.
- Present to Board of Directors and the Executive Team on the progress of the DEI Strategy as needed.
- Conduct ongoing needs assessments (internal and external), such as surveys and other feedback mechanisms, to measure progress and success. Prepares innovative initiatives and programs to address gaps in DEI Strategy.
- Identify processes and metrics to measure both progress and accountability related to DEI, engagement, and inclusivity. Metrics should encompass diversity in the organization, diversity in leadership, inclusivity and comfort, and equal/fair treatment of all employees regardless of Race, Color, Gender, Age, Sexual Orientation, Disability, Religion, and National Origin.
- Participate and/or lead in various committees intended to enhance organizational culture including the DEI Council and the Billboards for Change committee
- Responsible for recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management in the department.
- Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
- Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
- Screens applications and select qualified candidates.
- Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
- Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors to ensure equity and non-bias hiring practices
- Collaborate with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
- Source suitable candidates through a variety of channels.
- Manage respective candidate pools to ensure qualified candidates remain engaged in current or future opportunities.
- Input into the overall hiring strategy of the credit union to ensure our teams consist of a diverse set of qualified individuals.
- Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Asset Controls, and should request legal interpretation as necessary. Must ensure subordinates are also compliant with such laws and regulations.
- Must be bondable.

Requirements
Education & Qualifications
- At least an associate’s degree in business or similar related experience
- Minimum two years of experience working in Human Resources, or as a hiring manager, or in training or recruitment
- Certified Diversity Professional (CDP) is a plus!
- This position requires an understanding of basic computer skills including m365 suites.
