Tax Analyst - Operations

 POSITION SUMMARY 

This role will be performing product tax reporting functions related to our annuity, life insurance and preneed business. Successful incumbent will partner closely with Tax Compliance, Product Tax Operations, IT, Global Atlantic operational teams, and the Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) that provide service to Global Atlantic customers. Position can be located in Des Moines IA or Batesville IN. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Oversee daily federal withholding deposit process. 


• Oversee 1099 filings with the IRS and states. 


• Work with the State Department of Revenue contacts managing the withholding tax returns. 


• Participate in tax projects.


• Conduct  quarterly withholding reconciliations.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Deep sense of ownership. 


• Analytical and problem solving capabilities. 


• Independent learning capabilities. 


• Operational experience with annuity or life insurance products desired. 


• Able to work across the organization to build strong relationships. 


• Ability to deliver results and work within tight deadlines. 


• Effective verbal and written communication skills including ability to influence others and communicate across all areas of the company.


• Ability to make decisions, use independent judgment, establish priorities, and work effectively on multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.


• Proficient with Microsoft office products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
