đź’Ľ Role Overview
As Tax Manager, you will be the driving force behind the firm’s Tax Advisory Services team. You’ll manage complex tax engagements from start to finish, lead strategic planning and implementation efforts for clients, and mentor staff to excellence.
This role is ideal for a self-motivated CPA who thrives in a high-trust environment and is ready to lead, grow, and make an impact.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Oversee delivery of all TAS engagements including tax preparation, tax planning, and implementation.
- Manage a growing portfolio of clients—primarily self-employed professionals and business owners with high income or profitability.
- Identify and implement tax savings strategies tailored to client goals.
- Conduct tax research and manage IRS/state tax correspondence when necessary.
- Build out and lead a high-performing TAS team as revenue grows.
- Collaborate with CAS and LAS teams on cross-disciplinary client engagements.
- Ensure compliance with current tax laws and maintain a proactive approach to tax policy changes.
- Contribute to firm growth by identifying new service opportunities or improvements.
- Maintain client satisfaction and retention through excellent communication and strategic guidance.
🎯 Qualifications
- CPA designation (Required).
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting with a strong focus on business tax planning and preparation.
- Proven experience managing tax staff and client engagements.
- Expertise in federal and state tax law (individual, corporate, partnership).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to break down complex tax topics into clear, actionable advice.
- Tech-savvy—experience with platforms like TaxDome, Canopy, or UltraTax is a plus.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, coachable, and eager to grow within the firm.
