Job Description
- Review business, trust, and individual income tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and technical quality.
- Manage tax engagements from initial planning through execution, review, and final client delivery.
- Identify tax issues and planning opportunities while developing practical recommendations that improve client outcomes.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients and build trusted, long-term advisory relationships.
- Manage multiple client projects, priorities, deadlines, and staff assignments simultaneously.
- Delegate work effectively, review staff work, provide feedback, and help develop team members' technical skills.
- Collaborate with leadership on engagement status, client needs, tax strategies, and emerging issues.
- Research federal and state tax matters and apply current tax developments to moderately complex client situations.
- Support client development and identify opportunities to provide additional value through planning and advisory services.
Qualifications
- Active CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential required.
- 6+ years of professional tax compliance experience.
- Strong experience with both individual and business tax returns.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
- Experience with corporate, partnership, and trust taxation strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of multistate income and franchise taxation preferred.
- Strong tax research, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements while providing excellent client service.
- Previous staff supervision, delegation, or mentoring experience strongly preferred.
- Business development experience is a plus.
