DBTA is a full-service accounting firm dedicated to serving the complex needs of Private Clients, including ultra-high-net-worth and emerging-wealth individuals—entrepreneurs, athletes, entertainers, and business owners. We handle a wide range of tax matters, including:

Trust, Corporate, Individual, Estate & Gift, Captive Insurance, Partnership, Private Foundation, and International taxation.

Job Summary: Tax Partner
DBTA is seeking an experienced and dynamic Tax Partner to join our leadership team. This is a key strategic role within the firm, focused on overseeing tax operations, guiding high-level client engagements, and shaping the continued growth of our Private Client practice.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, a strong UHNW advisory background, and a passion for building relationships, mentoring professionals, and contributing to the firm’s long-term vision. This is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing firm where partnership is not symbolic — it is influential, collaborative, and entrepreneurial.

Responsibilities
Firm Leadership
  • Provide strategic leadership in the development and execution of the firm’s tax vision and overall business strategy.
  • Collaborate with fellow Partners to drive firm growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Represent the firm in high-level client, community, and business engagements.
Client Advisory & Relationship Management
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to UHNW clients, providing guidance on complex tax and wealth-planning matters.
  • Oversee high-stakes engagements involving multi-entity structures, international taxation, estate planning, business transactions, and succession planning.
  • Maintain and expand strong client relationships through proactive communication and high-touch service.
Technical Expertise & Quality Oversight
  • Ensure the firm’s tax planning, compliance, and advisory practices consistently meet the highest professional standards.
  • Stay informed on evolving tax laws and provide direction on firm-wide technical policies.
  • Review and sign off on complex tax strategies, structures, and compliance deliverables.
Team Development & Culture Building
  • Mentor and develop tax professionals, fostering an environment of continuous learning and collaboration.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and leadership to Managers and Senior staff.
  • Contribute to recruitment efforts to build a strong, diverse, high-performing team.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field.
  • CPA required.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of progressive tax experience, with significant UHNW and Private Client expertise.
  • Demonstrated leadership within a public accounting or advisory firm, including experience managing teams and complex engagements.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to advise sophisticated clients.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to influence firm growth and direction.

Skills
  • Expert-level knowledge of federal, state, and international tax law.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement advanced tax strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-level priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Why DBTA?
  • Collaborative, entrepreneurial firm culture that values innovation and growth.
  • Opportunity to shape the future of a rapidly expanding practice.
  • High-caliber UHNW client base that creates rewarding and complex work.
  • Strong benefits package, including:
    • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.
    • Immediate 401(k) participation with 100% vested match after 1 year.
    • Company-paid life and long-term disability insurance.
    • HSA, HRA, and FSA options.
    • Dynamic and inclusive culture with ongoing professional development.
    • Paid holidays and unlimited PTO.
    • Hybrid work available.

The salary range for this position is between $210,000 - $270,000 annually
