JOB SUMMARY:


This is a Tax Specialist I position in the General Tax Administration Program, Field Operations, Criminal Investigations Process. The incumbent processes, maintains, tracks, and archives Reports of Cash Payments over 10K (Form 8300) and approves Criminal Investigation Process cases, with emphasis on Prosecution and Tax Collection Enforcement Diversion Program (TCEDP) cases. The incumbent assists in adapting processes, reports, charts, and spreadsheets to reflect any administrative or operational changes, establishes, maintains, monitors, and processes obligations and monetary recoveries relative to the Court Ordered Restitution Program. The incumbent also assists with establishing, maintaining, monitoring, and processing obligations and monetary recoveries relative to the TCEDP, coordinating with field staff and other Department personnel to ensure proper establishment of liability, payment processing, data integrity, and resolution of deficiencies, independently researches case and statistical information, gathers and compiles necessary data, verifies data accuracy, and prepares periodic (monthly or ad hoc) reports to identify the status and statistics for the TCEDP, Pre-Trial Intervention, and court ordered restitution obligations for statistical reports used to monitor the Process’ action plan.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



  • Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.  

  • Two years of collections experience, at the Revenue Specialist III level or above, in Receivables Management within the General Tax Administration Program.


PREFERENCES:



  • Preference will be given to those who have high level experience in the System for Unified Taxation (SUNTAX), researching, reviewing, and analyzing data.

  • Preference will be given to those who have experience testifying in a judicial proceeding.


SPECIAL NOTES:



  • This position requires regular travel for field visits, training, meetings, conferences and other job-related responsibilities. You will be required to provide your own means of transportation. Mileage will be reimbursed according to existing Department of Revenue policies at the time of travel.


SALARY: The hiring salary for this position generally will not exceed $3,881.92 monthly/$46,583.04 annually.
