Tax Supervisor

As a Tax Supervisor you'll serve as the primary advisor for a portfolio of clients, oversee the preparation and review of tax returns and financial statements, and help develop the next generation of accounting professionals.

What You'll Do 

Build Trusted Client Relationships

• Serve as the lead professional for a portfolio of clients.
• Meet regularly with clients to provide tax planning, consulting, and advisory services.
• Help clients navigate complex tax matters with confidence and clarity.
• Manage all aspects of client engagements, including planning, execution, communication, and billing.
• Represent clients before the IRS and other tax authorities when needed.

Deliver High-Quality Technical Work

• Prepare and review complex individual, business, partnership, trust, and corporate tax returns.
• Review financial statements and workpapers prepared by team members.
• Conduct tax research and provide practical solutions to client challenges.
• Prepare and review tax projections and planning opportunities.
• Analyze and respond to tax notices and correspondence from regulatory agencies.

Coach and Develop Team Members

• Serve as a mentor and resource for accountants, interns, and seasonal staff.
• Provide timely feedback, training, and coaching to support professional growth.
• Review work and help ensure the development of technical and client service skills.
• Foster a collaborative team environment where people feel supported and challenged.

Contribute to Firm Growth

• Build relationships within the business community and cultivate referral opportunities.
• Assist with recruiting and onboarding new team members.
• Participate in presentations, training sessions, and thought leadership opportunities.
• Stay current on emerging tax regulations, technology, and industry best practices.
• Support firm initiatives that strengthen our culture and client experience.

 What we're looking for:

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or EA designation (or ability to gain within the first year) 
• Minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience with a focus on taxation.
• Strong knowledge of tax compliance, planning, and accounting principles.
• Experience reviewing work prepared by others.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience leading client engagements.
• Experience mentoring and developing staff.
• Business development or networking experience.
