Pay: $175,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year

Location: Candidates may be based in Greenwich, CT, New York, NY, or Roseland, NJ, with a hybrid work arrangement and collaboration across the firm's offices.

Note: We are seeking an experienced trusts and estates attorney with 8+ years of relevant legal experience and admission to the Connecticut, New York, or New Jersey Bar. Candidates should have meaningful trusts and estates experience; multi-state admissions, an LL.M. in Taxation, and broader tax expertise are valued but not required at hire.

Job Description

  • Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, fiduciaries, and business owners on sophisticated trusts and estates matters.
  • Develop estate planning strategies involving wills, trusts, wealth transfer, asset protection, and business succession planning.
  • Handle complex trust and estate administration matters from start to finish.
  • Counsel clients on estate, gift, fiduciary, and income tax considerations.
  • Draft sophisticated estate planning and trust documents tailored to client objectives.
  • Collaborate with attorneys across the firm on tax, estate planning, business, and related client matters.
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships while delivering responsive, practical counsel.
  • Support the growing volume of multi-state tax, trust, and estate planning matters.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to the continued development of the practice.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • 8+ years of relevant legal experience with substantial trusts and estates experience.
  • Admission in Connecticut, New York, or New Jersey.
  • Experience with sophisticated estate planning and trust and estate administration.
  • Knowledge of estate, gift, fiduciary, and income tax planning.
  • Experience advising high-net-worth individuals, families, fiduciaries, or closely held business owners.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, communication, and client relationship skills.
  • Willingness to obtain additional bar admissions as needed to support client matters.
  • LL.M. in Taxation is preferred, not required.

  • Required Years as Associate: 8+

  • Salary Bands (Only if attorney role):

  • 8 to 11 years: $175,000 to $200,000

  • 12 to 16 years: $200,000 to $225,000

  • 17+ years: $225,000 to $250,000
