Teacher Assistant

We are looking for a full-time Teacher Assistant to join our French-Bilingual Program at the Lower School for the 2025-2026 school year and play an active part in the day-to-day activities of our Pre-K3 classes. This role will be working during camps as a Lead Teacher.

This role has an immediate start date.

The ideal candidate will be compassionate and self-motivated as well as possessing the innate joy of working with young children. He/she will be devoted to building a nurturing and safe learning environment.

Responsibilities

·         Assist teachers with lesson preparation by getting materials ready and setting up equipment

·         Work with the lead teacher to monitor the class schedule

·         Go over lesson material with students individually or in small groups

·         Ensure the classroom environment is safe, clean and tidy

·         Oversee students during non-classroom times including in-between classes, during lunch, recess, and on-field excursions

·         Collaborate with lead teachers to recognize issues students are facing and recommend solutions

·         Help lead teachers to create lesson plans

·         Work as a Lead Teacher during the mini camps throughout the school year

·         Comply with state, school, and class rules and regulations.

·         Attend all training classes, parent conferences, and faculty meetings

Qualifications

·         High school diploma or equivalent qualification

·         Bachelor’s degree in education or relevant field is preferred

·         A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a teaching assistant or similar role

·         Preschool experience is preferred

·         Fluency in French and English language required

·         Solid understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices

·         Must have a compassionate and positive attitude

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Outstanding interpersonal and presentation abilities

·         Preferred candidate will have a current U.S. work visa, if applicable 

The hourly range for this position is $24 - 27 per hour, depending on the experience and skillset of the candidate.
