Teacher Assistant/Food Service Worker

The hours are Monday- Friday from 8am- 3:30pm

Full time hours are typically 35 to 37 hours/week. All employees are eligible for benefits at 30 hours/week.

A typical day for a Teacher's Assistant will include:

• Working as a team with the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, healthy, structured, welcoming space to grow and learn.
• Singing, dancing, playing, teaching! 
• Inspiring children to be lifelong learners. 
• Partnering with families to nurture and care for their children. 
• Showcasing your tech savvy skills by using an electronic daily tracking app. 
• Assisting with the accreditation process as well as other quality initiatives. 

A typical day for a Food Service Worker will include:

· Order, inventory food stock and supplies for meals

· Prepare meals and snacks on a daily basis

· Comply with safe food handling guidelines

· Assist in the creation of a safe, healthy, structured and nurturing environment

· Communicate positively with parents

· Attend meetings and trainings

· Assist with the accreditation process as well as other quality initiatives

· Other duties may be assigned as necessary

We have full time positions or part time positions (with flexible schedules available). 

Our learning centers are open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. We have locations across Rhode Island.  

Requirements

 We are willing to train the right person! Our ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience working with children. We are looking for someone who has the following skills:    

• A personal demeanor that is warm and friendly.     
• Verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and reading skills.     
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.    
• Organized and able to prioritize and multi-task.     
• Team-oriented and willing to work with others. 

Education Requirements   

• High school diploma (or equivalent) or higher.
• Safe Serve Certification (state licensed) preferred      
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred. 

Physical Requirements    

• Able to engage in physical exercise with children (walking, running, crawling, bending, twisting).
• Visual and hearing acuity.     
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds. 

Other Qualifications    

• 18 years of age or older (Teen Aide positions are available for applicants 16-18 years of age).     
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English, bilingual encouraged to apply.     
• Must pass national criminal background/fingerprints check.     
• Must pass Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS).
